As of Feb 2023, TLS 1.3 is the recommended version for securing online transactions. It has support from Chrome, Firefox and Edge. It is supported by Apache and Nginx.
It's faster and more secure as handshakes only require one round-trip instead of two and 1.3 drops support for vulnerable crypto algos present in 1.2.
TLS 1.3 should be on the Road Map for this year.
