Currently when you refund the first donation of a monthly gift, it automatically cancels the gift without letting you know it is canceling the gift.When you refund a gift, you don't intend to cancel it, just refund it. You need to stop canceling monthly gifts when you refund the first gift - it doesn't cancel it when you do 2nd and subsequent gifts. Or if you keep this feature, please add a popup notice that you are canceling the gift. But this would be Plan B, as you should be able to refund the first gift without canceling the entire monthly gift.
It would benefit everyone who has monthly donors, plus the donors themselves. I had to ask a brand new monthly donor to go back and create another monthly donation when their refund cancelled their gift, which is very inconvenient, and they may not create another monthly gift, which means we have lost them.
