Donor search does not work in all use cases

Our users report that it is frustrating that when you search for a donor name in Luminate Online and it often doesn't come up with their name. Then, you enter all of the donors information and hit enter, it then it brings up their name as an existing donor! Why doesn't the name come up in the search when they are already in the system?
