Query tool: add the ability to search for people who live within a certain radius of a place

Right now, if I want to find people who live in Denver and 30 miles around it, I need to input all the ZIP codes that are within that range.

When we had Kintera Sphere, we were able to input the name of the city and the radius around it and the query would automatically find the relevant people.

This feature is useful for fundraising solicitations and for event promotions ("Come to the Denver bike ride!").

I would assume that this would now be availavle in LO across the board, not just in a beta version, yet I am not seeing it. Am I missing something?

We are pleased to announce that this feature has been fully rolled out to all clients and is available for use in LO Beta!

This will be available in Luminate Beta along with the new start of new Luminate Beta segmentation features. However, one of those features will push the segment to LOCG group so you can create them in Beta and have the results appear as LOCG group to use like normal.

Will this be available in Luminate Online?  We have Beta available, but all it is is some reports...we still do all of our work in Luminate Online.

Hey Cathy, this would be enter an address and a radius distance from that address and we'll give you constiuents who fall within that radius according to the geolocation (lat/log) of the address we have on file for them. It won't, however, give you a listing of zipcodes that fall within that radius so you might still need your mapping table unless I am not understanding how you plan on using this new tool. Would love to hear more!

This is also helpful to The Salvation Army NHQ because we are all about ZIP code in our business to help identify which areas/ offices across the country (1600+ of them) "own" the right to solicit certain donors.  We also use ZIP code in a mapping table for custom revenue disbursement to over 500 merchant accounts.  I digress...

Hi folks, this feature is planned to start rolling out in the next month. Look for it in Luminate Beta soon. It will have Canadian geolocations too!

We used Geopointe for this now. It would be nice to not to have to use another tool for this.

We also use Geopointe for targeting based on GIS shapefiles
