- With Delayed Self Pledges (DSPs), Luminate Online automatically lumps registration fees and fundraising minimums together
- Discount codes do not work as they should with DSPs – you cannot charge $0 for registration when auto-charging. The system needs an initial payment. What is not paid at registration is tacked on to the fundraising minimum owed.
- You cannot change what you are registered as once you are registered if you have a required fundraising minimum
- Secondary registrations are not allowed if using DSPs
These are all issues that have prompted my organization to not use DSPs, despite our desire to auto-charge participants who have not met their fundraising minimums. Ultimately, we are losing out on thousands of dollars (that would be obtained through auto-charging) in order to provide a more user-friendly, functional web experience for our users that using DSPs as they function currently would not give us. We need registration fees and fundraising minimums to be separate, for discount codes (including 100% off registration) to function with DSPs, to be able to change what participants are registered as with DSPs, and for secondary registrations to be allowed with DSPs.
