There is not a good way in TeamRaiser to offer volunteer slots/locations and be able to automatically show when they are filled. We had this capability in Friends asking Friends, but we've been needing it with TeamRaiser for our various events. If a module will not be offered, then a partnership with a volunteer software product would help. Using an external service requires separate login and eventual batch upload of users to LO.

We are also interested in volunteer registration enhancement within TR. Recently, we’ve moved two 5K events to TeamRaiser from Sphere. Both events involve high capacity of volunteer sign-up.
We add Volunteer as one of the event registration types but the drawbacks are:
Either a new volunteer sign up form (with data available in data sync) or allowing multiple registration for a same TR event will help us a lot. We do not use third party vendor for volunteer registration.
Yes! That would be fantastic if TR offered volunteer management. Since it doesn't today, I'm looking at 3rd party vendors. If it helps you any, I found VolunteerHub and they claim to integrate with Luminate. http://www.volunteerhub.com/blog/volunteer-management-crm-integration/
