Within eCommerce:

We need the ability to change the product ordering to be based on a number system so that the user has control over where all their products fall on a sales page. Essentially, we want to be able to control the order of products displayed.

The current options of alphabetical order or value sort alone do not support best practices for product sales (in our case, donations).
