Ability to place upsell option anywhere in the process

Currently our upsell option (ability to sell t-shirts above registration etc) appears at the beginning of the registration process before we capture things like name, address etc. It would be good if we were flexible with this so that the upsell could be placed at differing point (or at least at the end instead of the beginning).
