Currently, an event has to be published (private or public) in order to view it. And being able to view an event /as it will appear/ is important in creating/revising drafts, because the LO WYSIWYG function (the HTML page in the process of creating events) is not useful at all.
But this means that, if you are working through several drafts of an event, there has to be constant publishing (to view) and then unpublishing (to edit), because the event is not yet finalized and should not be visible to anyone. This seems like needless extra effort.
As a contrast: In WordPress I can look at a page or blog post while in draft form because I am an admin. The same thing should be true with LO events: that I can view the draft event while I am active in LO as an admin.
