Allow users to track the number of times documents and/or images housed in the image or document library are accessed/downloaded.

Our organization offers free education materials that are sent from our offices but digital copies can be downloaded (.pdf) format via a link. The files for these documents are housed in our FTP server and we have no visibility to the number of times our constituents are accessing/downloading these documents. We thought of moving those documents into the document library and referencing them via link from there but there is no way to track the number of times those files are accessed either. This reporting functionality would allow us to track additional analytics surrounding the click-rates and downloads of particular links or resources which would be incredibly beneficial for version controls and future resource allocations.
