Ability to reissue receipts is a standard for LO, but having the audit trail for every receipt number is something Blackbaud needs gather business impacts across the markets, need, risk of adding this into the system and where these numbers would be stored.
CRA compliance is the charity's responsibility, regardless of software used to record donations.

we need to be more proactive as CRA puts the onus on the charity to be in accordance with the CRA regulations especially tax receipts when it is no longer valid (i.e. cancelled). Please review the following items and action accordingly as you all collectively know the “logistics behind the scenes”:
(1) Should the online donor request a refund, please e-mail correspond with him/her asking the reason, particulars, etc. for the refund.
(2) Refunds must be made back to the same credit card (no exceptions) that was used to make the initial online gift.
(3) Should also inform the donor, in the same e-mail,
(4) Keep a log of these refunds.
(5) In RE, ideally, there would be “a in and an out” transactions plus a copy of the e-mail correspondence.
